While attending college to become a video journalist I decided to make a movie for my mother's 50th birthday celebration. I recorded greetings from her friends and family, gathered her favorite photos and music, and created a montage video. After the first video I ever made was played there wasn't a dry eye in the room. This is when I realized the power of video. As well as being incredibly emotional, video is timeless as well. My children's grandchildren will someday be able to connect with who my mother is in a way that stories and photos cannot convey.
